Worked with reporters to guide and coordinate local coverage, while working with Sunday business editor and layout/copy editors on production of three daily editions. Implemented production of weekly real estate sales listings for the section. Selected and deployed electronic calendar and instant-messaging systems for remote-working reporters. Developed customized spreadsheet systems to pull localized stock-market data from Bloomberg terminal for publication.

Responsible for design and daily production of Starbulletin.com, the Internet edition of the newspaper. Implemented major redesigns in 2003 and 2005. Hired and trained assistant and backup staff. Adapted the site's database-driven elections returns system to process the newspaper's print election returns. Guided the conversion of the the site's Breaking News section and online election-return system to MySQL/PHP.

Developed and published database-driven Web applications for the newspaper, including a statewide directory of movie listings, a fully searchable database of Hawaii state lawmakers, and the first use in Hawaii of a database to post live statewide election returns online. The elections application was subsequently adapted to process election results for the newpaper's print editions, which continued to use it through 2006.
